Mobile Pet Imaging was founded in 2014, with a goal to bring the latest technology in robotic high-definition CT Scans with 3D capabilities and fluoroscopies to veterinary offices, veterinary hospitals, veterinary specialists, and zoos.

We come to you! 

Mobile Pet Imaging's mobile unit services the Miami, Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Monroe counties, but can travel outside our standard service area upon request. 

Travel fee may apply north of Ft. Lauderdale Airport or in Monroe County. Travel fee is waived if you have more than one case per visit. Call us at 305-733-0673 for details.

Principals

Pedro F. Armstrong, DVM, DACVIM

Diplomate Of The American College Of Veterinary Internal Medicine (SAIM)

Dr. Pedro F. Armstrong was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He attended Iowa State University for pre-veterinary studies. In 1996, he was admitted to Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine, and graduated in 2000. Following veterinary school, Dr. Armstrong did a one year rotating veterinary internship in VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital. In 2001, under the mentorship of Mark E. Hitt, DACVIM, he completed a three-year internal medicine residency at the AVIM in Annapolis, Maryland. In 2008, he co-founded The Southeast Veterinary Referral Center and The Pet Emergency Room in Miami, which he sold in 2016. In 2014, he partnered with Dr. Meaux to form Mobile Pet Imaging.


Dr. Armstrong is interested in endoscopic procedures (gastrointestinal and respiratory), imaging techniques (abdominal ultrasound, CT scanning) and non-invasive procedures such as ultrasound guided biopsies. He has a special interest in conditions affecting the gastrointestinal tract (stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas), urinary system and endocrine system (diabetes, Addison's disease, Cushing’s disease, etc).

Dr Armstrong has lectured on topics of veterinary internal medicine locally and nationally. He is the proud father of three, and enjoys boating, fishing, biking and triathlons.

In addition to attending yearly meetings for specialists, Dr. Armstrong has attended advanced courses designed for internal medicine specialists in the areas of respiratory and digestive diseases to learn about new procedures, advanced techniques and new therapies. He is also a member of The Comparative Gastrointestinal Society.

Dr. Armstrong is fluent in English and Spanish.

Xavier Meaux, DVM

Dr. Xavier Meaux was born and raised in Puerto Rico. He received his Bachelor's in Animal Science from Purdue University in 2002 and graduated from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. Following graduation, he worked at Durango Animal hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After 5 busy years in small animal practice, Dr. Meaux moved to Florida where he worked as a relief emergency veterinarian in Tallahassee and South Florida for 3+ years. 

Dr. Meaux enjoys spending time with relatives, friends and his very active Jack Russell Terrier. Traveling, running, and grilling are among his free-time preferences.

He attends yearly continuing education meetings, enjoys local veterinary industry gatherings and networking with colleagues.

Dr. Meaux is fluent in English and Spanish.

Ana V. Cáceres, DVM, Dip. ACVR, Faculty / Clinician at UPenn

Dr. Cáceres graduated from Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine, Magna Cum Laude. She completed a three-year residency in radiology at the University of Pennsylvania, and passed ACVR credentialing exam for board-certification in radiology.

Areas of special interest include Computed Tomography (CT), Angiography, Ultrasonography of the thorax, abdomen and musculoskeletal system; Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of the spine, thorax, abdomen, nervous and musculoskeletal systems.

Dr. Cáceres enjoys salsa dancing and spending time with friends and family. She has two American Bulldogs and three cats, a Manx and a domestic shorthair.


Marco Ruffato, DVM

Anesthesia And Analgesia Residency Trained / Certified Veterinary Medical Acupuncturist

Dr. Ruffato was born and raised in Italy and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Padua in 2003. He completed an internship in London and Canada. In 2009 he completed his residency in anesthesia and analgesia at Tufts University in Massachusetts. Dr. Ruffato started Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia Specialists (VAAS) in 2013 and will be bringing his expertise in anesthesia to Mobile Pet Imaging patients.
